Friday Afternoon Artist Colony

Unlock your child's creativity & confidence through art!<br>Fridays in October:<br><br>10/2: Owl collages<br><br>10/9: Trees with pastel on fine woven paper<br><br>10/16: Painting Pumpkins!<br><br>10/23: Haunted House paintings<br><br>10/30: Spooky SLIME <br><br><br><br>With six or fewer students, we’ll meet at The French Flat; with 7-15 children, we’ll meet at Neighborhood Art Studio, and an art assistant will join us, to give attentive instruction.<br><br><br><br>One of the most exciting parts is that this includes Mici pizza (we can accommodate allergies), fruit, veggies and dessert! <br><br>The time will begin with introductions and a demonstration. We’ll then begin our art project and at 6:30, we’ll eat. Afterwards, we’ll finish our art project and have some time to play indoor games and toys (no screens).<br><br>Fridays 3:30-5:00<br>$38, includes a snack and all supplies<br><br>Classes will be held at The French Flat with <6 students, & Neighborhood art with 7-15 artists. Ages 5-12 years (or younger/older if well behaved).

Friday Night Art Club

This autumn, we've got you and your young artist covered for Friday evenings! KERI and an assistant for safe and attentive art instruction.<br>We will let you know 48 hours prior to each class where it will be held: with three-six students, it will be held at The French Flat Art Studio. Mill Valley "En Plein Air" Art Camp – November Break 2026

Calling all young Mill Valley artists, ages 5-12, who love artistic outdoor adventures!<br><br>Join artist and Denver Public School teacher, Keri (and educator + grandma, Bronner with >6 students) Deixler for a charming art expin the Redwood glen of the Old Mill Park. <br><br>Use code MillValley2026 for 10% sibling (or buddy) discount.<br><br>- Dates: November 23, 24, 25, 2026<br>- Time: 9:00 a.m.–noon<br>- Price: $65 per child per day or $175 for all three days<br><br>Nestled in the enchanting Mill Valley Redwood grove, nature will inspire artists to create their own brand of art. We begin with learning the elements of landscape art with gesture drawings and thumbnail sketches, exploring line, shape, and value. We’ll explore, sketch our surroundings, and learn about horizon (what's not covered by redwood trunks!), texture, and so much more. We'll include a petite picnic (please let us know of any food allergies), and all supplies are included. Of course, outdoor playtime is an absolute must!<br><br>We will have a student to teacher ratio of 1:6 to allow for personalized instruction in a safe and welcoming environment. 1420's Mound - 10 ft | 4x10, 3 ft crown

Don't garden like it's 2026--garden like it's 1426! This aint your grandma's garden--this is your great, great, great, great, great, great, great.... grandpa's garden! This supposedly works to keep gardens healthy in the Swiss Alps at freezing temps and high altitude... also accounting for our xeriscape drought conditions. All built in your yard by The French Flat out of your own trees. <br><br>THERE's NO BOX, AND THERE IS NO DUMP RUN. We open eighteen inches of ground. We cut back your overgrown trees and lay that wood into the hole. Then the clay that came out goes back in - broken up, blended with compost and packed around the wood - and whatever the mound cannot hold becomes the berm beside it.<br><br>OPEN EIGHTEEN INCHES OF GROUND, MOUND 36" UP. EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT GOES BACK IN. 4 1/2 of working profile, three feet of it above ground. No walls, no corners, nothing to replace in eight years - there is nothing above ground but soil.<br><br>NOTHING LEAVES. NOTHING NEW.<br>Not one wheelbarrow goes off your property. The clay we dig out goes straight back in - broken up, screened, blended with compost and packed around the wood. No imported topsoil. No trips to the dump.<br><br>

Private & Small Group Atelier

Welcome to our "atelier", where DPS art teacher of 12 years, Keri Deixler instructs and 75 minutes of focused, private (or small group) art lessons at your home, our home/garden studio, or at another location (library, Stanley Marketplace, at a park...).<br>We'll focus on basic techniques in drawing, painting, and hand molding. Also available: cursive and literacy tutoring. Please inquire about groups of up to 8 kids in an outdoor Central Park location! Includes all materials. Personalized Portrait

I will work through the process with you, starting with a photo that you provide, either a hard copy, text, or email. I begin by sketching, then adding acrylic paint, and finish painting with oil. When I'm close to completing your portrait, I'll send you photo updates, so that you may critique (you know the features of the person in the photo!), until we're both satisfied with the result. You may choose a background and a color palette. Also available in other mediums, and please email keri@thefrenchflat.com to discuss.<br>Pricing reflects one person. Additional charges may apply.
