Then the clay that came out goes back in - broken up, blended with compost and packed around the wood - and whatever the mound cannot hold becomes the berm beside it.

OPEN EIGHTEEN INCHES OF GROUND, MOUND 36" UP. EVERYTHING THAT COMES OUT GOES BACK IN. 4 1/2 of working profile, three feet of it above ground. No walls, no corners, nothing to replace in eight years - there is nothing above ground but soil.
